Short Poetry: The Secret Life

You can hate me if you please
You can get down on your knees
Cause I'm not going be; what you're trying to bring

I'm able to succeed; baby that's all you can't see
I did it on my own, and now I'm fully strong
Cause I never needed anything but the drive
The moment to stand and say I, so I wouldn't have to cry

It gets better on your own
And I'm almost grown
I don't know what you really want
It's not so complicated
When you let go
I've been working on not loving ghosts

Cause broken promises can be steep
When misery seems to provide an empty seat
No I won't share my dreams just to please
